Thisted is the largest town in Thy with 13,000 inhabitants. The city has retained it's air of intimacy, which is felt when you take a walk through the quaint streets. Here you have sights and touches of ancient times, with beautiful old buildings, mixed today's modern forms and shapes, with a wide and diverse range of large and small stores, cafes and restaurants. All summer there are different activities for both old and young.
We offer sailing on the fjord (evening stroll and fjord safari). You can also visit the local brewery, Thisted Bryghus (Thisted Brewery).
Centrally located on the pedestrian street, you will find Thisted Church, which can be seen from all parts of the town. The church gives life to the town with it's carillon bell music, that plays every hour one of our well-known songs or hymns.
At the end of the pedestrian street you will find Thisted Harbour and the attractive marina. The port area has in recent years been renovated, so that today there is both shops and cafes, amongst the port atmosphere.
In the city-center is the wonderful park, "Christiansgave" from 1821, which includes open-air theater in the summer. Inside the park is "Kongelunden" where King's busts stand side by side. Christiansgave also has a large playground for children and families.
