Experience some of Denmark's most beautiful and wildest nature on horseback - and without having to think about how to find your way, how to transport your luggage, where to sleep or what to eat.
The whole trip takes place on well-trained Icelandic horses - all of them capable of tölting. Birger Eskildsen is the guide on the trips, and tells about the nature of Thy's National Park and the very unique nature that the area offers.
During the three days you are presented with some of the culinary specialties for which Thy is well known. You will get to taste the local products - like smoked red deer and local beers from Thisted Brewery.
Arrival at 2pm at Stutteri Korreborg near Svankjær. Birger Eskildsen is the guide on an approx. 4 hour trip through Hvidbjerg Plantation out to Lyngby - a small village in the middle of a protected sand dune area. From there you ride along an old coastal rescue path with views out to the sea and on to Lærkely Shelter Camp. Here we unsaddle and the horses come out to graze. You will be met with a small snack - something delicious with ingredients from Thy National Park. The fire is lit, and together with the guide, you get to prepare dinner based on local ingredients - dessert and coffee is also served. Guests sleep in shelters by the campfire or in the hay in the nearby barn (good mattresses are provided, but bring your own sleeping bag). There is also access to showers & toilets.
After a hearty breakfast, we saddle up and ride along the Thy Riding Route through the forests of Stenbjerg and Tvorup to a shelter place where there will be a lunch break - sandwiches of your choice will be served. The trip then goes through Nystrup Forest to Vandet Lake, which is one of Denmark's cleanest freshwater lakes. The day's riding adventure ends at Tvillinggaard Thy in Vang. The hosts offer a refreshment on arrival in the orangery, when the horses are in a stable or paddock. Accommodation is in the holiday apartment (double rooms). After a little rest, the hosts serve a delicious evening meal in the orangery, with meat grilled on the BBQ.
After a breakfast buffet in the orangery, we saddle up and ride along the Thy Riding Route to Lærkely, where there is a lunch break. Then we continue on to the starting point of the trip, Korreborg Stud Farm, where we finish off with refreshments on the terrace at approx. 4pm.
